Former New York City Ballet star Wendy Whelan visits Olympia

Ballet Northwest has teamed up with Studio West to schedule four special master classes for our students, two at Johansen Olympia Dance Center and two at Studio West Dance Academy – January 27-28, 2018!
This is in coordination with the release of a new documentary about Ms. Whelan, showing at 6:30 pm at the Capitol Theater on January 27…with a Q & A with Ms. Whelan to follow!!
To register your dancer for the master class at Johansen Olympia Dance Center, please call, email, or stop by the front desk to add your dancer’s name to the sign-up sheet.  (To register for the classes on January 28 at Studio West, please contact them directly.)
Dancers can wear any color leotard, pink tights, and ballet flat shoes (bring pointe shoes, too, just in case), but no skirts, please.
Saturday, January 27 – JODC Master Classes:
1:45-3:30 pm – Intermediate 2/3
3:45-5:45 pm – Advanced
Cost: $40 payable by cash or check to Ballet Northwest
Saturday, January 27 – 6:30 pm showing of the documentary, “Restless Creature:  Wendy Whelan” and Q&A with Ms. Whelan:
Tickets are sold through the Olympia Film Society (OFS) – order online (http://olympiafilmsociety.org/) or purchase at the Capitol Theater box office – 206 5th Avenue SE, Olympia.  Please note, this film contains some adult language and surgical images.
Cost: $12 general admission (or $10 for OFS members)
